Please take a few moments and send a letter of support for SB 877, PWQA and WQA’s sponsored bill. SB 877 is authored by Senator Joel Anderson (R-El Cajon), a longtime supporter of PWQA/WQA and past PWQA Legislator of the Year. SB 877 seeks to increase service connections from 200 to 2,000 so as to enable small communities to utilize Point of Entry and Point of Use (POE/POU) technology when centralized water treatment is not feasible. Current state law limits the POE/POU option to communities of less than 200 service connections.
SB 877 is an opportunity for the residential water purification industry and PWQA/WQA to further their reputation as leaders in solutions to safe drinking water delivery for all Californians. Overwhelming public and industry support, via letters of support to the bill’s author will help provide the momentum needed to push this bill through the accelerated legislative process inherent in even numbered years (2012 is the second year of the 2-year legislative session of 2011-2012). Letters are needed by December 8, 2011 to be useful!
