ASHRAE Publishes Updated Legionellosis Standard

The CDC estimates there are between 8,000 and 18,000 cases of Legionnaires’ disease in the United States each year – and more than 10 percent of these cases are fatal. Legionella can also cause a less-severe influenza-like illness known as Pontiac Fever. Most of those cases are the result of exposure to Legionella found in building water systems.

Health and safety concerns of counterfeit water filters

Of the 32 filters tested for removal of lead, 100% failed to meet NSF/ANSI standards to two times the life cycle (200% of the rated or specified capacity), which is notable since most consumers do not replace their filters at the required six-month mark.
