Fresh off the press, a new tri-fold brochure from Aquatherm North America (Aquatherm NA), “LEED v4 and Piping System Design,” discusses North America’s first ISO-compliant, peer-reviewed, third-party certified, product-specific Type III environmental product declaration (EPD) for a piping system.
Although that description is a bit of a mouthful, it means that Aquatherm has the only piping systems that directly contribute to LEED v4 credits. Aquatherm NA commissioned the EPD along with a life-cycle assessment (LCA) to assess the cradle-to-grave impact of its polypropylene pipe. Through independent verification by NSF International, all of Aquatherm’s piping products can be used as part of the 20 permanent products required for LEED certification.
